Alex and Sharlin: White Chicks 2

In 2021 Alex and Sharlin performed White Chicks 2 to sold-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe. In 2022 they took White Chicks 2 to Soho Theatre. This year they’re back and ready to run this thing into the ground.

White Chicks 2 is a split hour from two stand-ups who happen to be brown women. Did your parents advertise in a Bangladeshi newspaper to try and find you a husband? Ever thought about cheating on your rescue dog? Want to watch something that literally has nothing to do with White Chicks? This show is for you.

Alex Bertulis-Fernandes was a So You Think You’re Funny? Semi-Finalist (2021) and a 2Northdown New Act Semi-Finalist (2020). Alex has written for BBC Radio 4's The Now Show and BBC Scotland's Breaking The News, and was praised by BBC Radio 4's former Commissioning Editor of Comedy for having “so many good lines”, “astute material”, and “a really great performing style”. This year Alex co-starred in Restless Bitch Face at the VAULT Festival, and was selected for VAULT Festival’s Comedy UnRepped showcase. Alex was described as “one to watch” by her school counsellor.

Sharlin Jahan was a Funny Woman Finalist (2022) and a Bath New Act Runner-Up (2021). She’s featured on BBC Radio 4's The Now Show and BBC Essex Radio. Sharlin was shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Awards and was twice nominated for the Pleasance Reserves. She has been praised by Chortle for her “assured stage presence” and “relaxed yet upbeat” performance style. Sharlin produces and hosts her own monthly South Asian night, Brown Sauce, and co-hosts a podcast with The Comedy Store. She will be supporting Eshaan Akbar on his tour later this year.
