“Zoe. Get me God on line 1. And while you’re at it, bend the space time continuum, I’m going to be late for my Nobu lunch with Terry Wogan”.

Thirty something year old Zoe has been having anxiety dreams since she started working as a Temp PA to a high powered, demanding, hypochondriac narcissist Executive in the London office of an international film studio.

Executive Assistant Helena, her colleague come self-appointed supervisor, is one unreasonable request short of a breakdown.

These two women collide when their boss recruits Zoe in to help with his most outlandish request yet - to part the River Thames to promote his new film ‘Moses’.

Where Zoe starts out all late nights, hangovers, false hope and a rose tinted sense of amusement, Helena is a tightly wound coil of panic, officiousness and insecurity, clothed in an unhealthy co-dependent relationship with her boss.

YOU’RE A STAR is a timely, deep dive into the high pressured, sometimes ludicrous, at times abusive and often abasing world of high end personal assistants.

Comical and often tragic, this two-woman show will explore the complex dynamic between assistants and their bosses, through the prism of life as a lost thirty something year old woman in London in 2018. Post – Weinstein, post-Trump, post-Brexit, pre-gender pay equality, pre-climate change Armageddon….the world is falling apart but you’re working for a cunt who only cares about that £500 Hermes ash tray. Where ‘no’ is not an acceptable answer and your self-worth is no bigger than the lubricated nozzle of your boss’s colonic tube.

This thirty-minute show is a two hander featuring Cairine MacBrayne and Sarah Linton, as the two tormented PAs, Helena and Zoe. Cairine and Sarah met while working as PAs to a high-profile private client. They then went on to separate careers as assistants to various figures in the media world (this show is most DEFINITELY NOT BASED ON THOSE EXPERIENCES, honest) and then branched out into their own careers in film and television scripted comedy and drama production as well as acting. Coming back together in their mid-thirties, they have a shared desire to tell their stories and pick at the scars of those often traumatic but highly comical experiences.
