Coming of the Third Age

Coming of Age is a collection of songs on the theme of growing older. Composed and sung by Anna Durkacz, a late developer who started writing songs at the fine age of 57,the show takes us on an exploration, each piece a little anecdote from Anna's life. It's not for nothing she has been called the "Beryl Cooke of songwriting" and "the Weird Al Jankovtch of the Old Mum Genre". While on the subject of genre: perhaps we might call the show "post-menopausal-post-folk". Anna takes a wry look the ageing process and proves it's never too late.

Anna is backed by a fine band of pals,The Professors of Logic. Accomplished

musicians, they met through pub sessions, ceilidh bands and music workshops. The band comprises Wilf Smarties on the electric bass, Sandie Benzie on the saxophone, Linda Campbell on the accordion, Al Grieve on the guitar, and Anna on vocals and fiddle. 2019 will be the third appearance in the Free Fringe. This year Anna and the Professors of Logic will be performimg in May as part of the Luminate Festival, as well as other stuff in the pipeline.
