Whoever said, "Laughter is the best medicine." was probably an American without health insurance.

Spring Day (her real name) is back at the Edinburgh Fringe with a brand new sunshiny cynical and deliciously dark yet bubbly show that appeals to the schadenfreude in us all. The 15 year American expat comedian in Tokyo with mild cerebral palsy and enormous boobs regales her “lucky break” in Japan undergoing 4 knee surgeries, a surgeon’ s slip-up and an impromptu search for health and happiness that results in unforeseeable hijinks. Kick back, put your feet up in the sling and find out how what didn’t kill her is positively sidesplitting.

"A Definite Must See!" ★★★★ -ThreeWeeks

"Spring's gimlet-eyed perspective on life belies her Summer of Love name, but Tokyo's most prolific comic can't hide her underlying joy of life, even while recounting darker tales of love and loss in Tokyo."
-Chris Wells, Director of the Tokyo Comedy Store

"Spring Day is yet another American with cerebral palsy who learned her trade as a comedian on the Japanese circuit. Yawn.
Seriously though, one of the questions you immediately ask is: what kind of comedian is produced by the Japanese comedy scene? And the answer is: a very good one with some excellent observations and sharply-honed punchlines."
-The Skinny

"Spring Day is such a likable and friendly character with an incredibly infectious smile that draws the audience into her performance and wickedly delivered punch lines which have them falling over themselves with laughter, thinking ‘I can’t believe she just said that!’ They absolutely loved her and there is no doubt that you will too. ★★★★"
-Broadway Baby Review

Spring Day’s background: Featured in the 2008 movie documentary, The Tokyo Comedy Store, and in the 2014 best-selling book The Humor Code ( She’s also listed in that book’s index next to "dead-baby joke cycle" and couldn’t be happier about it.) Spring has been a headlining performer at The Tokyo Comedy Store for 14 years, writing and performing in both English and Japanese around the world. This is her 5th Edinburgh Fringe.
